After 4 Camino’s…I still love Santiago…the parks, museums, walking thru the city streets, mass in the cathedral…the energy and excitement of the pilgrims… sorry you didn’t see that
Walked it twice ... 2nd time to cover the parts I’d missed due to “feet” issues. And it was a different walk ... new friends to meet, new meals to eat, new places to sleep. Loved both

Didn't find a lot of places that would take credit cards - other than in the larger towns. It's really a cash society on the Camino. Don't count on your credit card.
There are many choices re: flights - you'll just have to find what will work (time and cost) for you. I flew to London (few days there), then to Madrid, on to Biarritz and taxi to St Jean Pied de Port.
As to travel/health insurance - DON'T leave home without it. Don't plan to need it, but...
