Best day of the year to start a long walk! March forth on March fourth.
We'll be a day or two ahead of you... And undoubtedly slower, so you'll probably run into us. Buen Camino!
That's what I plan to do for my March/April Camino this year. From the limited feedback I've seen, most people are happy with it. Someone reported they had patchy coverage in spots, but I imagine that's likely with any carrier. Of course, it was just in the news that there was a service outage...
We'll be right behind you! We arrive in Pamplona on February 28th, but will probably spend a few days recovering from jet lag before beginning our Camino.
Hope to see you on the Way!
You might also check flights into Pamplona. Depending on where you are in the US, this might be a more convenient option. I was originally looking at flying into Madrid and taking a train to Pamplona and a bus or taxi on to St Jean, but when I checked flights the price difference to Pamplona...
Sounds like we'll be just behind you. Flying into Pamplona on February 28th, and leaving SJPP March 2nd or 3rd.
Hoping for nice weather and minimal mud, but preparing for whatever the Camino throws our way.
Looks like they pushed back the closing date to December 15th, per their website: http://www.parador.es/en/paradores/parador-de-leon
It lists the closing dates under the calendar. I'd wanted to stay there, but looks like I'll still miss it as our camino has been pushed back until the spring...
Thanks for posting! We're planning on taking our kids in the Spring, and I love to hear positive stories about families on the Camino. Glad to hear that Sohee did so well and that you all made it to Santiago. Congrats!
I'm looking at tickets now; we'll probably have around 7 weeks or so as well. The plan is to be flexible and walk with the kid's pace, and not be hung up if we have to take taxis at some point. We're also planning to take a rest day every week or so.
Our son is 9 & our daughter is 6. I'm...
As a parent who plans on taking my children on the Camino next Spring, let me just say: Thank you for this post! I love to read about families on the Way, and while it seems pretty rare, the few posts I've seen from those who've done it have almost all been encouraging.
I'd love to hear more...
