CF in september: bring rain trousers or no?

Hmmm...perhaps not in Galicia? Equinoctial gales etc. I have rarely been colder or wetter than on the Primitivo in September, but then wheresoever I go, there is rain. That said, personally, I never bring rain trousers.

The Camino does NOT start in StJpdP - discuss

Very many thanks for this. I do not understand the compulsion to start at SJPdP. It is not one of the great medieval assembly points for pilgrimage. Do we blame Brierley? Why not start from Vézelay, le Puy, Paris - or anywhere? Your own front door, if you live in Europe? Why not choose a less...

Italics or not? A question of style.

"Bouffe" or "bof"? I assume 'bouffe." As in "la Grande ......" AA meetings

I don't think that's entirely what the OP meant. I think it was more seeking the support of others if there were pressures, pain and/or loneliness on the Camino.

    Holy Year: 2021

In 2011 many on the Camino Francés said Holy Year 2010 was less busy, as evryone tried to avoid the crowds it might bring

    Dealing with a broken ankle

Last year I had a double displaced ankle fracture with soft tissue injury and nerve damage, and it is pinned and plated. I have just walked the Magna Via Francigena across Sicily, which - although short - is quite strenuous. The ankle gave me no trouble whatsoever - my knees did though! I don't...
