    Orisson alternative??

Last summer we stayed at the Gite Antton. The folks there were great, and the accommodations were very comfortable. I do not remember the food they prepared for us, but I do know we had a great time around the table. They picked us up at Orisson and dropped us off again the next morning.

bed wanted in Orisson 11th Sept hostels full

Francoise, Two summers ago we enjoyed staying at Gite Antton, because we were traveling with a group and there wasn't enough space at Orisson. We found the albergue very comfortable. Arantxa, the hospitalero, was warm and welcoming. We walked up to Orisson, had our beers, then were picked up...

In 2015 my wife and I walked for a few days with a group from Paris (Compostelle 2000), as they pushed and pulled four friends in trekking chairs. They were walking for a fortnight on their next to last section...

    Orisson hostel

My understanding is that Orisson is open only from March to October. Our experience has been that return emails from the albergue can be slow generally, but even slower out of season. That being said, we've loved our stays there, and they have been very helpful.

Your one picture that captures how you feel about being on the Camino!

This is Gabriel and team on the first leg of his pilgrimage this summer--SJPP to Logroño. A powerful experience for all of us. (This summer, on to Castrojeriz...)
