I had a group over with me in September walking Sarria to Santiago and we had some extra time so spend a morning in Lugo which I highly recommend. The walls were amazing and you can walk as much or as little of them as you want. Also go and visit the cathedral in Lugo which is stunning.
I did it over a number of years a week at a time as I my daughter was too young for me to ngo off for the whole time. It was lovely being able to savour each section at a time and then get excited about going back and picking up again.
Of course not and that is why the question whether it is the sell is and the stories that are more important than the Compostella. I often lead on sections that don’t end in Santiago and people enjoy the experience just as much.
I remember thinking that it was a shame that having walked from Le Puy in Velay in France, I got exactly the same Compostella as someone who had walked only from Sarria. I am not saying that they shouldn't have one but I think it would be good for those who had walked further to get a different...
Take the opportunity to buy some provisions for a picnic on route and enjoy the scenery. As I walked in France first on the Via Podenisis, I was so used to few facilities that all the cafes etc were a bit of a shock to the system when I first got to Spain.
The walk from Santiago to Muxia is beautiful and Muxia, for me, was much more beautiful and spiritual than finisterre. Take your time to divert to some of the amazing beaches.
