    As a fellow Australian I can tell you that there is no chance of leeches of the type you are talking about and I don't think there is any real chance of any sort of leech encounter at all. Buen Camino!

    It is a confusing issue. The last 7 weeks I have used ABANCA ATMs that clearly state there are no fees charged by my card issuer for this service yet a few days later my Australian bank account shows an international ATM withdrawal fee.☹️

    I spoke to some Pilgrims in Santiago this morning who had just arrived via the Frances. They had pre booked and been OK but said they had heard varying stories about accommodation shortages. Some doing OK, and some were missing out.

    Unfair? I crossed from Castille y Leon into Galicia this morning and discovered the way markers had added an extra 30 kilometres to my Camino! I am devastated.....😝
