I loved the Sarria to Santiago walk - filled with enchanted forests. If you want to take it easy on your first day of walking, there is a Casa Rural about 8 km out of Sarria called CASA DE CARMEN. A warm, welcoming environment. A lovely family.
Spanish people would not think of drinking coffee on the run. It is to be sipped slowly, preferably with another person, while enjoying good conversation. I once made the mistake of asking for a coffee to go and the bar tender looked at me uncomprehendingly. The look on his face said it all.
No one walked slower then I did. I walked for 50 minutes (slowly) and stopped for 10-15 minutes every hour - .........all.... day.... long.......... At first I just laid down on the side of the camino, however, I soon found out that this caused great alarm to my fellow peregrinos who thought...
OK. What's the worst that can happen? There is no room at the inn. That's neither good nor bad. Should that happen, stay open. You cannot imagine what amazing thing might occur. You're on the Camino!
