Never felt like quitting. I have done the Frances St Jean to Santiago complete in 3 sessions. (due to vacation limitations) I have been back many times to do 300 or 200 or 500kms dependant on time and finances - never wanted to quit
Once I met a girl in Zubiri in Albergue who looked miserable -...
Usually I walk Sept and into October. I always bring a pair of lightweight thermals - black. Sleep in them and in cold weather use them as an under layer. Buen Camino.
Bravo Ricky! Maybe I'll see you out there as I hope to walk Sept/Oct 2023!
I once had a life goal to walk the Appalachian Trail - 3 timrs I was all set and each time I couldn't go as each of my 3 children had an emergency then. Haven't done that but Love the Camino - been several times. Years...
-If you are tempted to skip the Meseta don’t.-
I agree. I loved, loved, loved the Meseta - it was totally a Zen experience for me.

Yes! Yes! Yes! One warm day I climbed too fast and despite a water break I was definitely dehydrated, I stopped at every cafe that day and had freshly squeezed OJ at every one that had it! (most of them). It was a magical recuperation. In my journal I refer to it as an OJ day! --)
ps I soooo...
I have always walked September into October (been on CF 6 times with 1 complete) Have always had spectacular weather Except for twice had only 1 day rain each time (twice had 2 days)
At 75 and after several times on CF I couldn't agree more "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now" Under Covid restrictions I am currently planning next trip - sadly will have to wait till 2022 or 2023.
It will be different but wonderful none the less! Different people, perhaps a stay in a different Albergue or town. I have done a complete from St.JdeP to Santiago. I recall saying to my friend ;I don't think I will do this again' and she thought she would She didn't but I did. Went and did...
