i find than during training I tend to walk all in one go and on the camino i walk over a much longer time as I may rest for coffee, lunch, snacks etc which makes a great difference...

Would anyone know how late it is possible to arrive I come into the train station at 10,30 pm. Also what time will they open in the morning. Not for staying but for buying passports please if it is not possible to arrive that late
I used to know this great website where you could plot in your starting point (by marking it in a premade scheduele) and then plan your stages from here. It was a fairly simple tool. But I cannot seem to find it. Anyone please?

I think the firefighter thing is only in Portugal, so why not just walk from home to Santiago since you live right on a Camino, then you only have to worry about food...
also, eating and albergues are cheaper in Portugal, also here it may be easier to work for food maybe in restaurants etc...

actually I agree on the Albania-assessment, which is why I wanted to go in the first place. The original plan was to backpack balkans starting in Albania but branching into Montenegro, Bosnia, Kosovo etc if it suited.

These days I read Dostojevskij on my smartphone if theres absolutely nothing else to do. Theres a couple of apps that has free classics and other stuff to read so one is never entirely without
