when purchasing shirts or pants make sure they have a zipped pocket.
I put them in ziplock bags and carry them either in a chest pocket, zipped up, or in a zipped pockets on my pants.
Always with me and almost impossible to get pickpocketed.

I would just start walking and if I got behind have a read of the guide book and get a train or a bus occasionally.
Some sections on the flat between Burgos and Leon could easily be missed. But 38 day will be enough if you are fit and motivated

I took 1 fleece and 1 windproof jacket for the first week or so, the Pyrenees.
As i got further west and more into june they became redundant and i dumped them, too expensive to send em home.
3 days of rain but with a poncho was still warm enough.

Finished my first Camino yesterday and am posting to thank the Camino community for all the help and advice that made my walk successful.
I read all the threads, asked question, looked at the videos, read the packing lists and as a result had a great trip.
The only advise I didn't take was to...

I heard that this weekend that 900 Pilgrims were being held in StJohn as there is only 320 beds available in Roncesvalles, is anybody able to confirm or negate this,

Totally agreed with Joodle, I am walking May this year, have studied the forums contributors and watched the videos, it has (hopefully) taught me what I need to know.
I am training alone, walking alone but it seems you'll never be alone on the Camino unless you want to
I'm doing it in May/June on my own, I cannot find anyone crazy enough to join me, I'm also nearly 60 and know no Spanish at all.
From what I read you're never alone on the Camino, "just do it"
