Do you really need to visit the Pilgrim Office in SJPdP?

I visited the Pilgrim Office yesterday. The queue was about 20 minutes. Later in the day, around 4pm, there was no queue.

Did you take many photos and videos?

I'm asking myself the same question. My phone is rather low spec. When I see pictures that others take with better phones, I recognise the limitations of mine. I have a Canon SX700 camera, but of course I am concerned about the weight. I've contemplated buying a better spec phone but I don't...

Where to Stay for the First 2 Days of the Camino Frances from SJPDP

I'm leaving SJPP on May 10th. I have the luxury of unlimited time and no plans. Not even a return ticket.

    Accomodation in SJPdP

I'm looking forward to my stay at Beilari in May. Some people may have deeply personal reasons for not wanting to divulge their motive for walking the Camino and I respect that. I have no such need and am happy to share with others.

The Napoleon route is not open until April 3.

    Cash vs Credit or Debit

I used to feel uncomfortable about being offered tips, until someone who has worked in the hospitality industry told me that I should just accept it gracefully, rather than risk insulting the guest by refusing it. The ship was on a world cruise and had already visited a number of Australian...

    Cash vs Credit or Debit

I work in tourism in Australia. We have had a number of cruise ships visiting lately. Many of the Americans tip in US dollars. While I appreciate the tips, tipping is not a part of Australian culture as our basic wage is quite good at over $AU 20 per hour. I'm saving my $US tips and will...

Very impressive walk for a peregrino but I wonder if his companion thought it was a good idea

This book is the motivation for walking my first Camino. I picked it up as part of a bundle from a thrift shop, having run out of books on a holiday many years ago. I had never even heard of the Camino. It is a funny, heartwarming read and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in the...

Roncesvalles and Mansilla seem to be the bed crunch trouble spots

Why does it matter? If it's not compliant, it's not compliant. Unless you're considering carrying out the work to make it compliant?

Sleeping bag or liner in May?

On the recommendation of a friend, I have purchased the same sleeping bag. Cheaper and more versatile than a quality liner.

How Important Was It To You To Do "Full" CF ?

I had never heard of a Camino until I needed something to read on vacation and bought the book 'Spanish Steps' at a thrift shop many years ago. I was taken by the idea of religious pilgrims walking for a purpose, others for spiritual reasons, some trying to find themselves or clear their heads...

Yep. Quick, easy and instant website booking at Borda, with a personalised confirmation from Laurent. I recently booked for May 23.

Places to stay in or near Orisson.

I booked Borda yesterday. They have a booking link on their website. Instant confirmation. So easy and no language issues to contend with. I wanted to book Orrison but after reading the trials and tribulations of others, decided against it. Plus, the reviews of Borda are excellent.

Roncesvalles and Mansilla seem to be the bed crunch trouble spots

You have to question the motivation of some people for walking. Hopefully, he learnt something from the experience.
