Before I left I was conscious that i was "only" walking 114 KM. not the whole Camino. And I got over that. But one day I saw that little message about St James spray painted on one of the stone markers ! Rude!
I did your exact same journey last spring. Yes some people are judge-y ("St James didn't start in Sarria") but most are not. If you're a bit down - look around, where you are, isnt it amazing that you got there? I too saw many people older than me, doing much better - I learned that many...
yes i saw that posting. My understanding is this: they were going to do internal work (pausing the botafumeiro ) over the summer, but decided to delay this until fall (so as not to discourage pilgrims in summer season. So my questions are (1) when do they expect to start interior reno work...
My journey will start in SArria. I’m taking a day trip to Lugo because Lugo is the family name of my late husband. Then I’ll go back to Sarria and start the Camino. I thought my first stamp would probably be sarria. And the second stamp would be Lugo.
If I do take a bus to Lugo for the day (returning to Sarria to start my camino)
will i be able to get my passport stamped in Lugo ? (I really hope so!)
I am doing the same journey. And I’m also taking one day to visit the town of Lugo. There’s a bus and there’s a train – but I might splurge for a taxi so I can take as much time as I want.buen Camino
