LIVE from the Camino Before Los Arcos

Sounds great if I wanted the other Camino route. I walked from puente la reina to Los Arcos in one day with a lunch break in Estella. Stopping in Urbiola wouldn't have worked for me since I had just eaten in Estella. Thanks for the info though. I want to go back just to do that same route...

A nice 10k stretch not too far from Santiago?

There's so much to see and do in A Coruña. I highly recommend getting around via bicycle. The hotel I stayed in gave me a card to use the city bikes free all day ( hotel Coruña mar). There are bike locations all around town. Definitely walk around the tower of Hercules. Make sure to take a...

A nice 10k stretch not too far from Santiago?

I recommend getting a ride to A Coruña and staying a few days there. You could easily walk around the entire town and enjoy the city. It's very beautiful and it start the English way so you can follow some arrows in town. It's not far from Santiago and worth the trip. Buen Camino.

    Availability of buses for non-walker?

If possible...renting a car could be a good option. Also, would be a great deal for both of you if you shared a private room on your stays. Good luck and Buen Camino.

    Is Roncesvalles worth staying in?

I walked from Orisson to Espinal and I'm glad I did. Just stopped in Roncesvalles for a cold beer. I mostly enjoy walking while most others are done for the day...I'm also really slow.

    Rates using Booking.com

I speak Spanish but that is great advice to anyone using booking. I always set up my arrival through the booking app. No problem.

    Rates using Booking.com

Lol! Wait till you find out booking in advance doesn't equal a good nights sleep. Also, it didn't happen to me but a woman I met had her reservation given away. Make sure if you have a reservation that you let the place know what time you will be arriving or at least that you will be arriving...

    Rates using Booking.com

I used booking.com on most of my Camino and was very happy. Once I just winged it and ended up with no sleep in the most aweful place (in every way possible) but have a great story. I saw many people including a deaf woman who had the owners of their current night call ahead to the next place...

    Noise in Albergue

Here's an update....last night I had the best bed,hot water (not that I needed it),wifi and it was super quiet...the only thing was that there was no blackout screen that makes that loud sound when opening and closing that wakes me early every morning. I just put my head down and was...

LIVE from the Camino Best camino 'come back' (retort)

A few days ago I arrived at a pension that was completely shut down. One shirtless guy came out from who knows where and started waving his arms at me as I walked closer. Then started yelling in Spanish "closed closed closed"...I yelled back in Spanish "for me you better open up then...I have...

LIVE from the Camino Before Los Arcos

I was just passing through Luquin 2 weeks ago and the water there is the best on the Camino. There is that one Albergue there and the only place to eat opens at 6pm. They only really serve tortilla for food. I recommend to everyone to take that route...most spectacular views. I didn't see one...

    Noise in Albergue

Doesn't matter the town....noise is everywhere unless you happen to be deaf. I'm literally in a town with cannons going off all day and day/night there is this alarm that lets the entire town know it's hot. It's not bad enough I'm on the hardest bed in Spain laying in a pool of sweat...I need...

    crowded camino--> bringing tent?

I'm on Camino now and it's been 6 days. I'd hardly call this a crowd. The weather was perfect today and I saw maybe 25 pilgrims.

do people bring gifts to give to other pilgrims?

I'm excited to give people the gift of relaxation on the Camino. I've also been having some great experiences while making my Camino bracelets. I've been making them at my local senior center and in the process many people have asked for prayers for themselves and others during my Camino...

do people bring gifts to give to other pilgrims?

I'll be starting my Camino in two weeks. I plan on giving different kinds of gifts during my 40 day Pilgrimage. I along with my sister have made small bracelets that can be worn as or hung on a backpack. They are all unique with crosses, beads and shells. I also will be offering massages...
