You are being realistic.
Many women the same age has done the same. Alone. I myself have not walked the Pyrenees though, as I started in Roncesvalles, but I've seen many doing so.
Good Luck! Buen Camino.
:)
See what you mean, falcon, but what I meant was comparing it With "the living life". We all got a childhood, youth, we become Young adults, have children, and we get older. Stages of the lifes we' re living.
We still got a life after finished the Camino. For sure.
I also came to Close doors at the Rural there in 2008.
Thought I would walk on to Hontanas. It was too far for me though, so I spend the night at a very simple but oh so lovely albergue in San Bol.
Thanks for the warning, for NeXT time when I shall start my walk from Burgos.
Good idea to...
I am doing the Frances again, in stages.
Did that the first time too.
Finished it in october 2009, walked Roncesvalles-Burgos last october. Hope to continue in springtime.
Why? Don't know really.
It is a longing. Something that is hard to explain. Back to Peace and freedom I Guess. To good...
At one of my pilgrimages when I arrived in Astorga I had a briefly meeting with a Spanish local, but also a pilgrim, who told me that the part I had just walked represented the present and the problems I might be having right now.
Later I have heard about this divisions of the camino from...
I look foward to:
- see Roncesvalles and the stage walking from there to Pamplona (started in Puente la Reina last time)
- see what I did not see walking into Puente la Reina, as I arrived by taxi last time
- see the poem on the wall (after Navarrette) one more time
- that the hen and the...
I agree with jpflavin.
Next time I go (cause there must be a next time ... :) ) I will take a bus into and out of Leon. Maybe from Mansilla de las Mulas to Hospital de Orbigo (alternatively to Villadangos del Paramo). Much walking next to roads there (but not dangerous excactly, except for...
I've got a clear feeling of an N too :)
I'll never forget that stay. No hot water, no electricity, no bathroom, but the young lady that welcomed us was a beautiful soul. There were four of us that night, and we had a great conversation too.
Thank you, renegadepilgrim :)
There is a simple albergue some walk after Hontanas on FC. I stayed there, and it was so nice.
Does anybody know if the first part of the name of this place is written with an N or an M?
Miam Miam Dodo says M, Mundicamino says N.
I need to get this right for a text to publish.
:)
That's just a little after me, who is starting from Roncesvalles the 10th.
I expect most things to be open, but I use pensions. I would think that most albergues too will be, but someone else might know that better than me.
Expect all kinds of weather: It might be sunny and warm, but it may...
This might be an unsympathetic question, but I will ask it all the same, as I unfortunately have not managed quit smoking:
I know that Spain had a new law against smoking in January, like not allowed to smoke in bars and restaurants and so on, where a lot of people is at the same time.
But...
