I walked the river route in September 15. From the road junction where you leave the main Camino it's clearly marked saying "RIO".
However, you enter that "parque fluvial" not from its busiest part. Even as a man I felt a bit uneasy, probably because I was the only pilgrim for some time...

I know the very same feelings, in particular because I'm also starting (travelling to SJPdP) on my own. In my memory I have the saying "The Camino provides" and I hope that everything will be OK and also that I (we) will make it.
