Band of Trudgers - Virtual Camino

ON Walking 4 Fun: Been walking 3 days (at 3 miles per day) and I am STILL in Lisbon! At this rate, I won't be in SCQ until sometime in September. Good thing I don't have to concern myself with the 90 day limit in the Schengen area!

    Question regarding Compostela

Okay, I have a question and am not sure where to post... I am leaving from Valencia March 2 to walk the Levante. The credentials I purchased in Salamanca and SCQ in 2017 state "2 stamps a day", saying nothing about 100km. Is the rule still that is only for the last 100km, or has something...

    The proper way 'to go'

With a husband and six boys in the family, the bathroom could have turned into disaster. I trained my boys (but not my husband) to “go” sitting down. Now, at least once or twice a year my daughter-in-law thanks me that her husband sits. Her two boys sit also! (The hand that rocks the cradle......)

Without any notice CheapOAir changed flight schudule

For my first Camino (2014) I booked through one of these sites 9 months in advance. My walking partner booked directly through the airline for the same flight. The tickets cost the same. Three months before we were to depart, a situation at home caused us to need to change our departure date by...

Best time to get into Santiago?

And I usually build in 10 to 12 days in Europe after my Camino to visit friends and family there. I have found that staying in Santiago for three or four nights after arrival helps me readjust to "real life" - the crowds, the other people, the shopping, the multitude of restaurants, and did I...

Second Camino - ideas for avoiding trying to recreate the first?

On a purely practical note, I walked SJPP to Santiago, then to Finisterre/Muxia last fall. then I went back to Sarria and walked that bit again with husband. Places that had seemed difficult or long the first time were not the same when I had experienced them the second... How wonderful it...

Backpack packing list 4 beginning of March camino

One more suggestion.... If you are taking a sleeping bag, you will appreciate a Sea to Summit dry bag if it rains heavily. My backpack cover accumulated about a liter of water at the bottom and my sleeping bag would have been soaked. Also these bags act like a compression to easily fit the...
