Yes! La Finca is just about perfect! Private bunks for each pilgrim. Lots of hot water for the showers, with very spacious stalls. Free use of the washing machine. You do have to prepare for breakfast in the AM, but they do provide a coffee machine and the coffee. Great food, free tapas (?)...
I realize that in the end I can always get to my destination more quickly by taking the paved route, as it's usually not that much longer than the footpath. So next time I'll be taking the road, thank you.

That’s only on the booking sites. More than once I’ve called the directly and gotten a room on the same day, never mind the day before. Another good reason to carry my phone.
Or just stay at the albergue in Cizur Menor and set out from there in the AM. The city bus leaves from the other side of town, stops right in front of the albergue.
Nor any bedding at Roncesvalles, for that matter. Definitely not at the Burgos muni. I think blankets are made available at most private albergues, but seeing how they were being used by some of the other pilgrims and knowing that they were not cleaned after each use, I wouldn't touch one...
It seems that men tend to sleep hot and women tend to sleep cold. I ordered the warmest Sea to Summit sleeping bag liner, took one look and sent it back. I knew it wouldn't suffice for me. I sleep with a light duvet in summer in the UK.
