    Camino Frances in November

Hi, In 2012 I walked from Astorga to Santiago at the beginning of november. Mornings were cold but at midday and in the afternoon I only wore a t-shirt most of the time. It's true that I was lucky with the weather and it only rained two days (one of them pouring down). Two years ago there were...

Hi, I see everyday the statistics in Santiago and a lot of pilgrims are on the way. (yesterday 1300 pilgrims arrived) Do you think would it be difficult to find a bed in the mid october from Ponferrada to Santiago?

Hi, Mi first Camino was in the beginning of November 2012. It was from Astorga and I was very lucky with the weather. It rained two days, and one of them it poured down. The temperatures were mild and most days I could wear only a t-shirt at midday. Last year I did the Camino Aragonés from...

    Backpacks as airplane carry-ons

Hi Heitgl You can buy poles in many shops in Madrid, but as peregrina2000 says the nearest ones to Chamartín and Atocha are Barrabes shops. If you are going to travel from Chamartin and you have time enough, you can take metro line 10 till "Cuzco" and Orense shop is not far from there. If your...

    Missing the camino

I walked the same part (Astorga to Santiago) last november and I miss it too. But the perspective of doing it again from Somport to Santiago next november brings some relief. I live in Madrid but two weeks ago I was in León and I could not help feeling some envy when I saw the pilgrims, but, at...

Albergue de la Piedra - Villafranca del Bierzo

I was there at the beginning of last november. It was by far the best albergue I stayed. A lovely welcome with tea and a good conversation with the owner. Good breakfast and plenty of room in the dorm.
