Arriving on 30th September and will be resting for a day before walking from SJPDP. See you there! Dont be scared. Just one foot in front of the other. I walked from Leon to Santiago same time last year.
I am doing mine in 3 parts too. Last year I did Leon to Santiago and took my time.. took about 3 weeks.
This year, I am returning to do St Jean Pied de Port to Burgos in about 3 weeks again.
Next year, I will return to do Burgos to Leon and then from Santiago to Finesterre.
Take your time...
I have the same problem although I am only doing the half marathon in November and December.
I am running 6 half marathons in 2013. I should have completed 3 by the time my Camino starts in October and I will run another 2 in November as soon as I get back, finishing with the last one in early...
I tore up my guide book and threw the pages I had walked away at the end of every day. At the end of the Camino, I bought a new guide book. It is much lighter and there is also a sense of achievement. Weird I know but it felt good to tear the pages away!
I am going to stay 2 nights in October. I am coming from Singapore to Barcelona then another flight to Pamplona and a taxi to SJPDP all in one day so I rather stay 2 nights at a nice hotel to recover. No point being a sick hero. There is plenty of time.
When I was walking last year, I just told myself, if someone rubbed me up the wrong way, I would just walk away. That is what I did. I didnt put up with S*IT.
I also made it a point to stay in private accomodation so that I could choose who I wanted to mix with.
The Camino is not all about...
I think everyone's different. When I walked the Camino last year, I didnt plan and spent alot of time worried whether I would find a place to stay and less time enjoying the scenery around me. I was also constantly calculating how many kms I will walk and where the nearest place to stay is...
I only stayed in private accomodation along the way. Just google and book in advance if you like or turn up and ask if they have private rooms.
I just planned my next trip in Oct and I prebooked all the places to stay already because I dont like to spend time searching for places to stay...
I did it last year and I know I am going to get alot of slack for this but bring a hair dryer. It's worth it for drying your clothes. I am doing it again this year when I go in Oct.
Get a taxi

I booked mine on line and they speak English. They can pick you up anywhere from Pamplona so I asked them to pick me up from the airport and take me all the way to SJPDP. It costs E105.. There are 2 of us so we split the cost. It...
There is no right or wrong way so to hell with those who think the only way to do it is to sleep in albergues. Everyone carries their own weight. It may not be physical but it may be emotional and no one understands that better than yourself.
So if you meet people (like I did) who give you...
You wont believe what I lost! My entire trip I lost nothing until I got to Santiago. The day before I was due to fly back to Singapore, I could not find my compostela certificate! I looked everywhere including the hotel but it just disappeared without a trace. Luckily the pilgrim's office...
HI - if anyone walked the Camino Frances in September/October and met Jorge (Mexican descent from LA) and his nephew Michel, do you have their contact details?
I walked with them for a few days until Molinaseca and then lost contact with them as I never saw them again (I think I was behind...
Ah Hah.. So I was not the only one who finished last week and heard the same story.
I actually saw the guy and he was kinda weird looking and looked very dirty.
I think you should just pay for your trip with the money that you have and if you want to help out, spend more money like I did and...
I just finished The Camino last week and I made a decision after the first day that I would only stay in private accomodation. Some people along the way gave me slack and said I was not a real pilgrim but they are not a real pilgrim because they spend all their time criticising others. There...
I just finished the Camino last week. I walked with a friend and after 3 days, he dumped me and went on his own. I was depressed all of 30 minutes.
I think it comes down to putting yourself in the best frame of mind. I told myself it can't be all that bad! I asked God for 2 things after...
Definately agree with the last posting.
You dont need to tell everyone about this.
You can do all of this in Thailand which has alot of need including animal shelters if you run out of things to do in orphanages.
I just finished The Camino last week and it's a small community of walkers...
