    Concerned

It probably would be a good idea to prebook 5 days in advance, when you get comfortable with your daily walking rate, given it is a Holy year, and somewhat of a post-covid year., It gives you a destination to work for, rather than depending on providence.I have a friend on the Camino...

Took the Plunge and Booked for July 2021!!

Spain is scheduled to drop the mandatory 2 week covid-19 quarantine on 1 July. So, if it is not extended, you should not have to quarantine if arriving on 1 July. Hopefully, Spanish provincial closures will be over in July.

    Certificate for Finisterre an Muxia

You can get the Finisterre certificate at the tourist office, and also by mail if the tourist office is closed. The Muxia certificate can be obtained at any alberque in Muxia, but you must have a sello ( stamp ) from Lires ( about the half way point ). Walk back to Santiago direct...

Advice of those who have walked May/June

Walked SJPP to Leon starting June 1. Sunshine and warm and dry every day, except for 1 day of cloudiness and drizzle in Burgos. Meseta was very warm. Walked Leon to Santiago the next year, 3 weeks earlier, to avoid the hot weather. Was sunny and warm every day, except for...

    Completed Camino Frances May 23

Istvan and Barbara, a Hungarian couple rented the building and ran Corazón Puro for many years, but had to go back to Hungary in 2017 because of some family health problems. Corazón Puro is a trade marked name, and apparently an Argentinian then rented the building and stole the name...

Walking the CF for the Second Time?

Took four summers for me to finish the CF, as I only had 2 weeks at a time. Will probably be going back in 2021, to walk the entire CF at one time.

    Camino Frances in August

A good solution is to start walking about 5:00AM, it won't get hot until 11:00AM or later. Prepare a breakfast the night before, or wait until the next village for coffee.

    Pamplona train station

Pamplona old city is up a 30 meter hill, surrounded by a Roman Wall, from the train station. The yellow path will bring you into the city via the old roman gate. There is also an underground escalator that will bring you up the hill to the old city, Ascensor Urbano de Descalzo, marked by the...

Meseta Burgos to Leon 6th July 2018

Good luck with your Burgos to Leon segment. We walked Santo Domingo to Leon in June 2017. Most days, it was HOT and sunny. Bring a sun umbrella, and carry plenty of water. Start early, maybe 6:00AM or earlier, and avoid walking 11AM - 2PM if it is sunny and hot. Buen Camino

    Prescription drugs on the camino

This year, while on the Camino, I forgot to bring enough of one prescription. Brought the near empty bottle into a Pharmacia in Burgos, and was given a refill straight away. I only needed 15 pills to last until I got home, but this medication was only sold in a box of 56. Also, this...
