Camino Frances in December / January

We will be starting our Camino Frances sometime in January. About the same time you will. There are four of us (family) doing a winter Camino. We've done the Frances multiple times. We're flying into the UK on Dec.25, to "play" for a few weeks first. You should be able to get accommodations...

    Finding albergues in the winter

Maybe I am too late for the link to winter albergues to work but I have clicked on it multiple times from the original poster and subsequent posters and it open to an email contact but no list. Is it necessary to actually contact the original poster to receive the list? 🤔

What did you do with your compostella/shell

We each had two shells, hence two Caminos each (2016 : 2017) ... we gave them to specific people in hopes they would trek the Caminos to enrich their lives.

Walking the Camino in late September to Early October

If you take a sleeping bag, use a lightweight one, but .... there is always a but ! The problem, arises even with cool temperatures at night, people want the doors and windows closed, only God knows why. Put 4,6,8,10 or more people into a closed room, that is that many people putting off body...

Walking the Camino in late September to Early October

Having stayed in numerous alburgues during our Camino treks, one thing was almost a constant. People wanted to sleep with the doors and windows closed. I don't care how cold it got (rarely around freezing), the room was stifling from body heat and humidity from breathing. 4, 8,10,12,20, 50...

    My Thoughts About The Camino

. I learned to appreciate the small things in life like 2 cotton sheets on my bed, a long hot shower, a cotton bath towel, a meal WITHOUT french fries :) I am generally an optimist, but meeting such wonderful people on the Camino reinforced my beliefs in the goodness of people. Life on the...

    How's the Pyrenees?

There are a few tough parts on the Camino but remember it is not a race. We are in our late 60's and trekked the entire Frances twice in 11 months. We found the second time we stayed in SJJP for a few days and it worked out much better getting over jetlag. Stay at Orisson your first day out of...
