If you have time, start in Lisbon. The entire Camino Portuguese is a great walk, and there are several excellent stops between Lisbon and Porto. I agree with Walli and David. I have caught the Camino Bug.
Definitely worth the walk! I walked Lisbon to Santiago this past July. Boardwalks, sand and marshland along the river between LIsbon and Santarem; interesting towns and people all the way to Porto; great food. Forget trains and planes - there is no better way to enter Porto than crossing that...- Keyes

Lisbon or Porto?
Wonderful post! You've captured much of the joy of walking a Camino. Over the last three years I've spent 120+ days on 4 different caminos, and never had a boring day. So glad that I started in Lisbon this past July. Definitely prefer longer over shorter.- Keyes

Brierly or no Brierly..
I used Brierly, Harms/Dintamam/Landis and several apps including Wise Pilgrim while walking the Camino Portuguese from Lisbon to Santiago last month (July). Cross referencing among them was handy.
