it is/was well signed in spring 2007.
you can of course design your own route, as i did in places, by taking a large scale map of portugal with you ...

I walked from Lisbon to Santiago, via Tomar (dont miss the Templar Castle) last April, from Tomar it took me 19 Days.
Accomodation to Porto is small hotels or pensiones, from Porto to Santigo there are plenty of Albergues.
Walking is mostly on roads through beautifull countryside and...

Didnt come across any accomodation last year between these two towns, its 34 kms and it took me 7 hours.
Its a beautiful stretch, fairly flat, stayed at the luxurious YHA in Ponte de Lima.

I WALKED LISBON,ALVERCA ,AZAMBUJA,SANTAREM,GOLEGA,TOMAR,ALVAIAZERE,ANSIO,COIMBRA ONTO PORTO.
I DID NOT GO TO FATIMA,THE CAMINO DE FATIMA STARTS IN ALVERCA AND RUNS WITH THE TOMAR ROUTE SPLITTING NORTH OF SANTARAM.
FOR ME ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS CAMINO WAS VISITING THE TEMPLAR...

MET ONE PILGRIM IN TWO WEEKS TO PORTO,HE WAS WALKING TO FATIMA SO IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO ME...
