Unfortunately I agree that the "albergue" in Vilarinho was a disaster, just a month ago. I can happily do "basic" but what I found was unacceptable. I'd walked out from Porto cathedral in pouring rain so didn't want to go further that day. Fortunately the lovely pharmacist knew of a family...- daisy

Safety on the camino portugués
Just back from walking Porto to Santiago, and saw a young man flasher near Pedreira, south of Valenca. A restaurant in Tuido called the police for me, and they drove to the place to look, but didn't seem concerned enough to make a report (may have been difficult because no common language)...- daisy
