Oh I didn't know that. I thought if they said they were booked there wouldn't be anywhere to stay. I'm so glad they do that. I would prefer not to book - but I am a slow walker. Do slow walkers often get shut out of albergues?- Brooklynpoet

It is different this year with so many places closed. It seems like there's a real risk that there will not be a bed available, especially the first few days out of Roncevalles. Any advice taking into consideration conditions this August would be appreciated.- Brooklynpoet
