What happened to Forum member Alexwalker?

Wonderful to hear from you. I too am going to walk from Burgos but only to Sarria, averaging 12 to 15 km a day. Very doable. I wish you well.

    Never too old

I have a Portuguese colleague at work and she makes them every day for a local bakery and brings in what she considers her "seconds", or rejects and the staff just love it.

    Never too old

I love it because that is my plan as well. I am not retired yet but I am 63. Some days will be less than 10 km but of course I have 5 weeks to complete the walk from Porto to Santiago de Compostela.

All booked-only 286 days to go!

How exciting and I am also from down under, and flying to Porto on 11 May from Sydney, finally after 5 years of planning and Covid delays. Great airfare from Sydney too, $1200 return with Lufthansa.

Hey Evlyna After much pondering, planning, wishing, and delays since 2016 I am now looking to walk in mid May 2022, starting in Porto but sticking to the coastal route, and the Spiritual Variante, God willing, Covid willing and as long as the Australian Government finally after two years lets us...

Hoping to be back in 2023

Hi Craig, Ellann also from Australia. I was set to walk the Portuguese Coastal, last year, then October this year, but considering May or October 2022 now. Of course hoping that our illustrious leaders open our borders so we can get out of here. Some say it will be 2024 before we can go...
