    Porto to Santiago Sept 22.

Have a look at this: https://www.accuweather.com/en/pt/porto/275317/september-weather/275317 The weather seems to be pretty decent and not cold in September. Santiago is not very different and you can check it in the same web site

I agree with you, cold is relative. My wife and I walked March/ April last year. We had a light, fast dry fleece and our rain jackets. That was enough for us for the coldest days we encountered with temperatures of -3 C to +2 C. But then, we are Canadianas and we are used to hike on much...

I am an old guy (over 70) and overweight. We, wonder woman and I, started in Roncesvalles last year. Started very slow and encountered some obstacles but... after 2 or 3 weeks even the old body got conditioned and became a walking machine. You will find that after walking everyday with the...

Leaving Toronto on May 4 and starting our Camino Portugues de Santiago in Lisboa on May 5 (actually, we will be taking a couple of days off in Lisboa to recover from the jet lag and visit the city). Walking to Tomar and a then a little turn to the left to visit the Shrine of Our Lady at Fatima...

I took an ALSA bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles, where I started my pilgrimage, two of my fellow bus passengers ( they met in the bus) then called a taxi that took them from Roncesvalles to St. Jean. I also read somewhere that ALSA is planning to extend the Pamplona-Roncesvalles run to St...

My wife (wonder woman) and I are getting ready for el Camino Portugues in May/June starting in Lisbon. I learned my lesson, last time I passed out before Larrasoaña and spent 3 days in Pamplona on doctors orders because of exhaustion. This time we will spend 2 or 3 days in Lisbon recovering...

Hi I am starting my Camino in Roncesvalles on 6th May 2015, It's my first. Any tips?

I had a problem with exhaustion, so my recommendation is that you give yourself a couple of days to get rid of the jet lag and to make sure you are well rested before you start. I went from the plane to the bus to Roncesvalles and had to spend 3 days on doctors orders in Pamplona before I...

Ron: My wife and I walked this past March starting in Roncesvalles. We had a bit of snow, a bit of hail and some rain but overall the weather was acceptable. We are also Canadians from Mississauga so walking on 0 C weather was not uncomfortable. Don't worry too much about the weather. You...

My wife and I walked this year el Camino Frances from Roncesvalles. We are now officially addicted. We are thinking that on 2015 we will try el Camino Portugues starting in Lisbon in early March.

70 years is a great time to walk the Camino. My 62 year old wife walked with me this spring ( I am also 70 years old). 41 marvellous days starting in Roncesvalles on Ash Wednesday and arriving to Santiago for Easter. I assure this will be a unique and fabulous experience. Buen Camino!

I did use the caps only for concretely, I had to replace them 3 times - I guess I am hard on the sticks - and I did not have any problems finding where to buy them.

I did that, over 24 hour travel, one night in Pamplona next day to Roncesvalles and started to walk right away; tired and jet lagged. Result I passed our with exhaustion two days later. I had to rest in Pamplona for 3 days. My suggestion: if you can afford the time spend an extra day in...

Thank you guys. It was a long 41 days but unbelievable and unforgettable. I really was surprised that we finished. In my 70 years I had never done anything like this pilgrimage. I could never have finished if my wife was not there to pick me up a take me to emergency for medical assistance 3...
