Another solution DF, is move the trip to start with me on Aug 31. However, there may be some rule to not let two SEC boys on the camino together, since There would be a vino shortage for sure! Lol
Be sure to call your bank, let them know you will be using your card abroad, when and where.
Make sure your passport is not within 6 months of expiring.
6 miles a day is plenty, this is not a race, start slow and you will get in better shape as you go farther.
Light sleeping bag or liner.

Caterina,
I walked my first Camino, Sept 2012. I had met a few people on the forum and met them in SJPP. I also met many people along the way. I can only speak from my experience, almost everyone I met was willing to help me and anyone else make a successful journey. In turn, I had the attitude...
Dead Fred and whom it may concern.
Ivar has been so nice to change my user name for me. Instead of lhlyda, my posts will be under the name I was called on the 2012 Camino.......Snake

Im trying to plan my second CF, beginning Sept 1, 2014. Looking at airfare from Atlanta to Madrid and back. 44 days total. I did my first CF in 29 days but want to slow down and see more this time. Early stages of planning and not 100% sure yet. Still trying to convince myself, lol
72 hrs from now I will be in the air headed to Paris. Then 3 trains to SJPDP. Will spend 2 nights in SJPDP and start on Sept 1. I'm ready to get this started!!!
Welcome Paul!
I'm sure there will be someone walking during that timeframe. Not sure how many will be doing just that stretch. However, there will be many pass thru Leon that you can walk with. It may be hard to hook up with any certain individual because of their schedule walking but load up...

Hey Robbc,
Sounds like you have a handle on it. Lots of info on this forum. Time on ur feet will make a big difference. I have not walked the Camino (yet) I plan to start Sept 1 from SJPDP. When I was running ultramarathons, time on my feet was part of the training.
Check out the calander on...
Stu,
I am used to backpacking and sleeping in a tent also. My fears of not finding a bed led me to buying a "sea to summit" poncho. It covers your pack, weighs in at 13 oz and can be made into a shelter. Check out the video

Sorry to hear of your loss Michael, I think walking the Camino will be exactly what you need. I will be leaving SJPDP on Sept 1, hope to meet you there!
