Welcome Elron and buen camino!
I have nothing to add to the sound advice from other people here. It is good that you have made the decision to go, i spoke with someone a couple of weeks ago who had been putting off going for 20 years and now at 70 years old with a variety of health problems...
Sorry to hear about your wife Michael, and so hard to see someone you love dearly suffer with Alzheimers. All I can say is that I was a caregiver for 13 years and it takes its toll both mentally and physically so you need to be very gentle with yourself and take things slowly when you start...
Buen camino to you too @alexwalker i’m a little sad to be missing Pamplona this camino, i love that city and have always had two or three nights there on previous caminos. :)
I'm walking from Burgos on the 20th April 2020, a shorter camino this time but I have restricted time to do this this year :)
I've never done a springtime camino so am looking forward to this :)
Well, after much deliberation i've taken my plans off hold, though I won't have enough time to do the VdlP this year (new grandchild arriving in May!) - so, VdlP is now on the list for 2021 and for 2020 I've booked a flight to Madrid and a bus to Burgos and will walk the Frances from there to...
Well..... i'm tentatively planning to head to the Via de la Plata and to start in Sevilla in April 2021. I know, it's going to be a Holy Year so i'm not sure if it will be crowded but I can't go this year (2020).
Hello class of 2018!
I will walk out of Sevilla on the 14th September on the Via de la Plata. Walking solo.
My flight UK to Madrid is booked, need to sort transport (high speed train?) to Sevilla.
This will be my third camino (previous two the Camino Frances). Had planned on walking last year...
Hi, In 2015 I had my bag wrapped in the plastic wrap to fly from Glasgow to Paris and again when I flew back from Santiago -> Stanstead -> Glasgow. All fine. I have Pacer Poles too and dismantled them and they fitted in my pack nicely. I plan on doing the same this year.
Hi Nate and welcome to the forum - loads of great advice on here - don't know what i'd have done over the years without the advice and knowledge of the great people on here.
Three months is excellent, it's great not having to rush the camino or be on a deadline. Spain is a fabulous country to...
Excellent! It's very exciting when everything starts to come together isn't it - I now have my flights booked and I walk out of SJPdP on the 4th September. I found that September/October is a great time to walk - not too hot, not too cold, not too rainy :)
Hope you and your family have a great...
Hi @Gemajams welcome and buen camino! I'm also walking in September from Saint Jean. As mentioned by mspath yes you can keep and use the same pilgrim passport (credencial) - many people walk the camino in sections over a number of years. Enjoy! :)
