Flights out of Santiago
Just did this actually...had a flight from Santiago to Madrid scheduled in the morning and a flight to United States in the afternoon. Flight from Santiago was cancelled so took the train a day before, spent the night and flight home was going to be 4 hours late so was rebooked, what a hassle...- Bill Krueger

Time to get through Madrid Airport Passport control queues/Covid checks?
landed in Madrid just the other day! Arrived from JFK in New York. Long walk to passport control 10-15 minutes, long line but moved well, about 30 minutes. UPDATE! Yes, the tickets were down loaded as of July 1 and we have booked out train trip from Barcelona to Pamplona! We will get transport then to San Jean Pied de Port and begin our Camino on the 19th of August! The good Lord willing and hoping our flights are not cancelled again! many...- Bill Krueger

We have been trying to purchase train tickets on renfe.com. We are trying to get from Barcelona to Pamplona on August 18, and there is a train listed for 9:30, (also listed on rome2rio) but though we have checked back many times over the last months, it says that tickets are not available and...- Bill Krueger

Rail strike
In June 2016, there was a strike, the TGV was not affected, just some local trains. We were stuck in Bayonne for a couple of hours, but buses were provided.- Bill Krueger
