Hotel for midnight arrival at Santiago airport

We used that same flight. Booked a suitable (late arrival) hotel via Booking.com and also booked a taxi via them. Worth doing but we were a group 3. 4th member arrived earlier.

Late night taxi from Santiago Airport

Our hotel was also booked via Booking.com for that night then Booking.com suggested we might like to book a taxi. No discount , I think we paid 37€ between 3 of us. Well worth every cent. On the return journey to the airport it was mid afternoon and we used the excellent bus to the airport. 1€...

Travel Question - Car rental and driver's license

You could drive to the Portuguees / Spanish border, drop off the car in Portugal. Cross into Spain by taxi then use a Spanish car hire. Assume you're still young enough to be eligible for car hire. Over 75s this isn't possible.

Ryanair Carry-On Dilemma: Need Your Advice!

To the O P We do, as recommended here. Buy a packable holdall. In it pack both rucksacks and your poles. This way you pay for one piece of hold luggage. Spare shoes and perhaps some heavy items we pack into day sacks to store beneath the seat in front of you. Our 2 x rucksacks and poles came in...

Transport from Santiago airport at midnight to city

We arrived on a late flight from London. I'd booked hotel accommodation for that night via Booking.com. They suggested booking a taxi via their site which we did. Approximately 33€ between 3 of us. It was great to be greeted on arrival by the driver and taken straight out to his taxi. Well...

    Transportation to Santiago Airport

Yes, Vueling cancelled our direct flight to London Gatwick, we now go via Barcelona . Most of their direct flights that week seem to have been re-routed. Unfortunately the place we booked for our last night can't be cancelled without losing all the money. So we're stuck with that and a taxi to...

    Transportation to Santiago Airport

Our evening return flight has been changed and we are now on one that départs at 06.45. We will have to book a taxi as the bus to the airport doesn't start early enough for us to rely on that. I've already booked a taxi for our inbound flight which arrives very late at night. Booked via...

    Late arrival to Santiago airport

Same dilemma for 3 of us. I found an hotel on Booking.com tyat is open late but fortunately no.4 in our group arrives earlier so can check in for us. Booking.com offered a taxi deal and at that time of night I think it's worth taking that for door to door service.

    Jacotrans -ruined backpack

Sorry to hear about the damage to your rucksack. I've mentioned this before but will repeat my advice. Buy a packable holdall, you can pack your good rucksack and poles in this when using air travel and have to check your luggage as hold baggage. On the Camino use your holdall to pack your...

    Santiago to London

Vueling , I used that early evening flight to London Gatwick in May. I had reached Santiago earlier than anticipated and I was able to change my booking for a flight two days earlier. No extra cost. Train services from Gatwick usually good but we currently have a plague of train strikes that...

Return from SdC to UK by ferry from Santander - advice please

I am not sure foot passengers are allowed on the Brittany Ferries route from Bilbao but obviously do check. Bilbao ferry port is not as easy to access as the port at Santander which is right in the town.
