Hi Judy & Bonnie:
Re. getting from Roncesvalles to SJPP
Caroline Aphessetche is a delightful and effervescent Basque woman who runs the Express Burricot taxi (it's a travel van with lots of room for gear). We used her service in August to get from SJPP to Roncesvalles, but she will drive you...
There is a train from Bayonne at 18h13 that you can probably catch. Here is the page from the SNCF site:

That's pretty innovative! I guess you ran in to lots of pilgrims heading towards you.
Where did you stay in Burguete, and is it hard to find lodging there?
We would like to stay there towards the end of the month, at the start of our pilgrimage, and are interested is seeing and maybe trying...
The SNCF (French rail) site is running a sale which may appeal to West Coast Paul and others. You need to check dates on the site to find something that works for you, but I see, for example, a €19 one-way fare from Paris-Montparnasse to Bayonne on September 13, departing at 07h15 and arriving...
Hi gimli.

Buen Camino & Bonne Chance!
Kevin
We fly from Canada to CDG, and plan to stay overnight near the Montparnasse Station to recover a bit from jetlag. The next morning we take the TGV from Montparnasse to Bayonne. If cost is an issue, as it is for us, you should know that the SNCF is running a promotional fare on the route---€19...
Thanks for your advice, friends.
We now have a plan in place: arr. in Bayonne from Paris at 12:09, dep. for SJPP at 14:37, arr. St. Jean at 15:50. We will arrange for transportation from there to Roncesvalles with Caroline at Express Buricott.
We wish you could all be with us on the Camino...
On the basis of excellent advice from Sil, we intend to begin our camino in Roncesvalles on or about the 25th of August. We are taking a morning train from Paris that arrives in Biarritz at 12:30. From Biarritz, what is the best/fastest way to get to Pamplona?
Is it possible to reach...
Hi.
We are a Canadian couple with 17 days available in September to get from "Point A" to Santiago. Where is a reasonable place to start with the goal of getting to Santiago within 17 days? We were thinking of Burgos or Leon, but what is the best choices given we go at a reasonable pace and...
