I always check my backpack when flying. I have a special bag that I bought at a sporting goods store which in lightweight nylon with a zipper and handles that my large backpack fits in.- TomasWS

Security of backpack contents during flights
I have a lockable zipper bag (very light weight) made to hold a fairly large backpack). I think most shops that sell backpacks also sell these bags. However, I wear my hiking shoes on the plane because of their weight. Medications, documents, etc. I put in my carry on "sack". I've never had a...- TomasWS
