Another approach could be train.
We used it to get from Middlesbrough to Santander to walk on the Camino del Norte last September.
We arrived the night before in Londo, stayed for the (short) night in the cheapest and closest Hotel we could find.
Then we took the 06:18 Eurostar to Paris...
I have started my Camino this April. I live in the North East of England. So I looked for a way to travel to SJPP without going to an airport in the south of England. :P
I also did not like the idea to travel from Pamplona to SJPDP, just to walk back over the next few days.
