    We got here today & yes, the Plaza Mayor is only 15 - 20 minutes walking from the bus station. The hotel doesn’t just jump out at you but we finally found it. Thanks for your input!

    Thanks. I did look it up on google maps but I wasn't sure about which bus station we would arrive. It was pretty straight forward & only said about 16 minutes. We are staying at Hospedium Plaza Mayor.

    Madrid Airport to Ponferrada

    I am planning the Invierno for mid-October & I was looking at that same 10:00 bus to Ponferrada but I was able to find a flight that arrives ~7:00 am & was still hoping I could make it! I have already been able to book accommodations along the way but I stay in small hotels. Good luck, Kathi

    Traveling from USA, Houston to SJPP,

    I've done the Frances 3 times and from Houston I have always gone to Madrid through Newark. If you get a flight that arrives early enough in Madrid, you have time to take the train from Atocha station to Pamplona and get the last bus from there to St Jean. Buen Camino
