Have you evaluate the option BIlbao-Pamplona-Estella or Bilbao-Logroño-Estella by bus? Bilbao is about 150 Km from Estella by the shortest route. In taxi will not be cheap.
Here you have a time table.

I think you prefer a direct travel so you must take the 7 am option.
You can also choose travel to Logroño by PLM...
I Think that both companies ALSA or PLM have a direct connexion from Madrid airport to Logroño. it takes more or less 3,45 hours. From Logroño to Torres del Río about 20 km you must take La Estellesa company.
Usually in local routes you must wait the bus arriving at time at the bus stop. If there is somebody waitig or somebody to let the bus, the bus will stop. If there is nobody it will not wait for anybody. Remember that the stop time is only to to step into de bus or to leave it. Be sure that...
It seems thas ALSA company operates this route only in summertime. Try to contact PLM autocares. This company arrives at Valcarlos from Pamplona dayly. Valcarlos is about 10 KM far from Saint jean in the sapanish border with France.

I was wrong I sorry. ALSA has a route to Pamplona by Soria my mistake is that I live near to Logroño and Pamplona people use a route to Madrid crossing by Soria. I was thinking about the route Madrid Soria Logroño instead the route Madrid Soria Pamplona.
There is another bus company who takes you direct to Pamplona from the airport. I think they have service bus from Pamplona to Valcarlos. They use the route Pamplona Logroño Burgos Madrid. The company is PLM. I dont know exactly but I think that Alsa route finish at Logroño.
Remember these route may be closed. Some months ago spanish and french police decided to close the camino from 01 Nov to o1 April. It is by the high number of incidents related with lost pilgrims and rescue in snow.
I think this weekend may snow in that area.
