Hi guys, we'd really like to stay in Irun in the municipal. If they are completo then we intend to get out to the next albergue 4km out. Is there a possibility they would let us sleep on the floor? Anyone know if they allow this?
that's the plan. 4km out..... between them I'm sure they can find a spot on the floor for two pilgrims. Someone will find a place for us, they always do.
We're arriving at the end of June on a Friday night. Finish work, fly to Spain , bus to Irun. I'll gladly hop on a mattress if that's all they have. I really hate the idea of reserving beds, which can't be done with Irun municipal anyway. I heard so many scary stories about no beds etc on last...
Oh that's great guys. We're looking at an arrival in Irun around 8pm. I see the municipal has 48 beds. Any idea of the likelihood of it being full on July 1st?
Laurie, I'm starting out from Irun at the beginning of July. Was the weather good. I ask as I'm living in Ireland and I've a lot of lush green scenery with 70% rain. :( I'm hoping we will get some good weather. Suncream weather? If that's not a stupid way of phrasing it.
starting from Irun along del Norte then through to primitivo to finesterre.
Leaving in less than three weeks now.
Few questions:
Landing in Bilbao. planning on staying in Irun municipal.
Can we definitely get our credentials there? I've none this time.
Are there any good PDF online guides...
Thanks guys, and particularly Micheal. I've decided not to pack a sl bag. I'm gonna carry my cotton liner. I can always put on my merino layers if need be.
I'm packing a merino base layer and a mid weight merino layer, both are far lighter than even the most basic fleece. I assume that will be...
Michael, you're a star. Thank you for the reply. I'm going to use your blog as planner guide. Many thanks.
The pilgrim numbers you describe sound perfect.
Yes roots and boots.... stayed in the one in Santiago, was a memorable experience.
Many thanks Michael.
Michael, can I ask if you'd recommend anywhere to take a zero day, one that isn't too touristy? My friend likes when we allow for one or two.
Also any albergues I should try to skip when scheduling days?
I read a post about rats???? in one. Seems strange...
We are planning out a rough schedule for our camino from Irun to Finesterre, via the Primitivo. ( very rough)
my friend likes taking one or two days off as rest days over the course of the whole camino.
Does anyone have any recommendations for scenic places, or places with a nice relaxed...
Yup, I'm not naive, I would say it's a constant possibility, but I follow the drills and have kept clear of them. Spotted a live one in carrion de la condes before, so checking and following drills really helps.
Any suggestions on whether it's necessary to pack this sleeping bag around for...
So will my cotton liner will do in July , Micheal? We start July 1st to early August.
Looking at all the pictures online the del Norte and primitivo look wetter than Ireland!!!
I don't mind a wee bit of rain or fog in the hills, it's expected but I hope to get some sunshine. Any del Norte...
