Thanks Peter,
Looks like around 400 started in Irun and about 4000 completed the northern camino in July 2016.
It's still difficult to gauge how busy it is from Santander onwards, but hopefully it won't be too quiet!
Evening from a rainy Ireland!!
It is that time of the year again when my thoughts turn to the Camino.
Three years ago, I walked from Irun To St. Vincent. It was quite strenuous but it was absolutely beautiful - lovely fellow pilgrims as well - still in contact with two.
Then last year I flew...
I flew to Biarritz on Bastille day two years. There was very limited public transport to Irun. As a result I did not get to the Albergue until about 9 p.m. They could not have been nicer and I think I got the second last bed in the overflow room (garage).
However for peace of mind I'd...
Thank you DJ King!
Finance and time are conspiring against me. However hopefully I'll get there!

I'm...

You can download this pdf file to your phone. I really liked this guide. At a glance; it gave you an idea of daily elevations and distances between towns.
Hi AJ,
I walked the Norte for two weeks last year. I started on the 14th of July. Before I went I was worried, that there would be limited accommodation. With one or two exceptions, there was room in most of the albergues. There were enough beds for pilgrims for the first four or five...
Thanks MendiWalker,
I only have 19 days, so I will not reach Santiago this time, but the camino is not going anywhere, so I'll hopefully be back next year to finish the second part of the Camino del Norte!
Hi everyone,
I'm arriving in Irun, straight from Biarritz airport, next Monday afternoon.
Is it possible to stay in the Hospital de Peregrinos de Irún albergue, even though I have not walked that day?
I tried to book the other hostel on the camino, but it is already booked up.
I've walked...
