Albergue Aves de Paso sold
Pendules is between Colombres and Llanes. There is a very scenic route variation along the cliffs with a blow hole (if the tide is right) which leads to Pendules. Check Gronze.com.- Myra Ramsay

Taxi/ bus to Gernika to get there in time before the peace museum closes
In 2019, I stopped at Albergue Andiketze in Olabe. It didn’t open till 3.00 but there was a nice bar where I had lunch on a balcony just down the hill. It was one of my favourite albergues. From Santillana... nice route/destination?
A short day out of Santillana is to Cobreces. There is asphalt. I walked in May on a cold, wet and windy day and stopped at El Pino albergue in Cobreces, at the start of the village. Walked the Del Norte in May/June this year. Found it tough at times but that was due to starting with injuries and wet days. As you will read, the walking after Bilbao becomes easier. Reply from an Australian. If you fly into CDG in Paris, you can get a train to Hendaye on the border. Then a very short walk to the local train station where you can purchase a ticket to Irun.
