We are in Don Paco , Llanes at this precise moment. we spoke to the manager of the Estation Albergue here in Llanes about our time there in previous years. Steep descent [ vertiginous] into Orio

Not there as it’s narrow in many sections This water way is in my opinion worse than going into Conque (Le Puy ) because of its length . And when we get to Deba it will be the elevator Bad inflammatory arthritis and knees and hips that should have had ops years ago has caught up Can’t occur...

    Vegan on Camino Del Norte

In jest Bruce , if I was walking the Norte I would take a years sabbatical , the fish is matched only by the start of the Portuguese. Safe trip whenever you commence.

LIVE from the Camino Advice on Norte now - Ribadeo to Santiago

I think the area you are worried about is from Baamonde to Sobrado , its around 40km . Miraz was always the epicentre of this section but if this is closed do me a favour Scroz Get into the spare willy [ wallet] and when you get to Miraz or even a bit further on ring Hotel Rural Bi Terra ...

    Helicopter rescue near Laredo

We have done both , Took too long on coastal path as you have to be very , very careful. HRH after finishing the coastal way added a bit of humour ; She started singing Marty Robbins song , Only us oldies would know how popular this song was years ago.

Don't let this happen to you

😊 It's the first Parador you reach in the town , which has two. If you love golf or like wearing a golf shirt with shorts after you shower then buy one there as The Boss does every time . The older shirt she took along at the start , gone......... I feel dressed up mate she mumbles.

Don't let this happen to you

Two things about Ciruena 10 years ago we stayed in a beautiful Pension there with a wonderful family as host. The attention they gave my wife with her blisters stays with us. They had a beautiful deck under cover looking over the old town , a bar opposite. Many Spanish stay in this village ...

    Camino #2 /2019

If you are walking in August (late)and Sept the weather will be beautiful It's obvious you are staying in the larger towns for sightseeing so the pilgrimage with others won't occur as per last year. My wife is 70 yrs and she walked Norte from Biarritz alone so I cannot see why a previous comment...

Primitivo or continue on the Norte?

In SDC now Laurie , many kids finishing , large groups of schoolies. I think these WERE quieter Caminos ( Norte, Primitivo , Portuguese) are now getting very popular. The other night there were 40 plus sleeping in various accommodation in Lires. The Muxia - Finistere is getting popular but at a...

"Worst" stages- if you had to skip a few....

Suggest you get rid of every excess lbs/ luggage before Deba . Suggest you get rid of all perceived ideas of what it was going to be like. Take your time and enjoy and sometimes less is better

"Worst" stages- if you had to skip a few....

No pride involved mate , its hard at the start and the chariot will make things more difficult. You and the family will have a wonderful vocation in a beautiful area. Enjoy each section and whatever you decide each day / week it will be for the families benefit. Enjoy the people .....they love kids.

"Worst" stages- if you had to skip a few....

One or two days in advance The distances you are walking are foreign to me mate , we are 18---22 km pilgrims. We hope to see more and enjoy the villages. We never walk past 1.00 pm where we enjoy our main meal for the day.

"Worst" stages- if you had to skip a few....

We actually enjoyed the NON water villages after Ribadeo , back to normal country life away from the tourists.
