Hi Marska, That’s correct - for the Castro Dozon night we actually stayed at Casa Casarellos nearby (they do a pick up & drop off service) We started our walk in Ourense Hope this helps Buen Camino! Guy- Guy Strachan

Hi there - I walked the Sanabres from Ourense in 2018 and can highly recommend. Lovely walking through beautiful countryside and not too much asphalt. To suit my Octogenarian father we did 6 circa 20k days with stops in Cea; Castro Dozon; Lalin; Silleda; and Ponte Ulla - with a lovely approach...- Guy Strachan

Via de la Plata: Camino Sanabrés or Camino de Invierno?
I walked the Sanabres from Ourense in 2018 and can highly recommend. Beautiful scenery, sensible stage lengths & good facilities en route. I haven't walked the Invierno yet (2020 plans cancelled due to CoViD) but have heard there are minimal services on some stages and long gaps between so on...- Guy Strachan

The Sanabres is a lovely walk - I did it in early May 2018 starting from Ourense. It was probably a bit cooler than right now but not by much! Your post brought back very happy memories. Stops between Ourense & Santiago
I will be walking the final section of the VdlP starting in Ourense in May next year. We will have my 86 y.o. father with us and therefore want to limit our daily walking to maxm 25 km per day. Can anybody suggest over-night stops based on 5 days of walking? Also wondering if any taxi firms or...- Guy Strachan
