Don't worry ! I have noted in the three times I have walked the Via that there are many more women walking than my first time. I usually start the week after Easter which seems to be the busier time. I'm no Spring chicken and start once more on 10th April. Great Camino!

I had a couple of times with no network with Orange . This April I will try Vodaphone or would Movistar be better? I had arranged to be picked up after the Pico de Dueno by Carreras V11 Hostal. No network so no pick up.
Castro Dozen could certainly do with some accommodation. It's either walk on to A laxe or taxi or bus.
In 2022 the husband at the first cafe was the taxi driver.
My first time on the VDLP I was feeling quite lonely with very few pilgrims from Salamanca and no English speakers so I decided to walk to Astorga. I found it flat and boring. Never again!
