I started the Levante in 2019 and was due to resume on Spring 2020. Looking forward to getting back. A very quiet Camino. I covered 300 klm without meeting another Pilgrim.
That's a long trip Dodger from Australia. Have they allowed international travel yet to / from Australia. I was speaking to somebody in Spain today who told me that resturants are open in the morning for a couple of hours and the same in the afternoon, largely closed by 3.00pm in many places. I...
I have done the VdLP in April / May. The one advantage of October / November is the you should avoid intense heat. July / August could be almost impossible on that particular Camino.
Somebody has already mentioned the possibility of snow in November and I couldn't comment further. I did a...
Hello Dodger, yes, I have done the VdlP and it is magnificent. Of course June and July are hot, but don't underestimate May and August also. I have done some of that in May in very hot conditions. I do think, however, that May and even August might be too early from a Covid perspective. It is...
Hi Dave W96, I also loved the VdlP. Easter 2021 falls very early in April and so that could have you hitting the road relatively early in April, which is fine. Late April / early May is perfect with one possible downside, it can be hot. Kanga points out that it was still quite cold, particularly...
Hi Donna. I was in touch with Diego in Italy, the author of the poster. He is looking into shipping to Australia for you. He asked if I would forward his email contact to you and you can communicate directly with him. If you send me your email address to my email address, I will pass on his...
Hi Jill.
For me, it is the one Camino that I have to go back and do a second time. As Aidan21 said, you have to do it to know what it means to you.
On a practical level, it is a relatively quiet camino, Look at the attached poster, the VDLP is fourth from the right, At the top of each Camino...
Andrew and Rachel. That is certainly something to look forward to. Having done the VdlP, I would thoroughly recommend it. A few observations.
1, The VdlP is long, very long with a few long stretches. I agree with the towns / cities mentioned above also but, inevitably, you will have the odd...

Buen Camino

You are going to have a lot of spare time on your hands as you will be limited to cycling walking-distances. Bring a good book! Incidentally, I also have bad knees but I get cortisone injections about two weeks before hand and I never have even a hint of a problem on the Camino.
Hi
I agree with most of your comments, although not sure that I agree with the old men one. I am surprised that you didn't mention what I think is a major difference, well in the summer months at least. You know what I am going to say, don't you? Heat. The heat on the VDLP in the summer time...
There is a small tourist office right by the cathedral and they will give you the passport and stamp it. walk around the cathedral and you will see it.
Buen Camino
Hi
Not sure what you mean by the first twelve days / the last twelve days. But generally, the weather will be a little better and warmer in late April rather than early April. IT is a relatively quiet Camino and not too many crowds.
Where exactly are you starting the walk? Very easy to get to...
You have a nice friendly offer from another Camino walker. I am doing a section of the Via de la Plata for 8 days each May. I started in Seville a few years back. I just wanted to reassure you that, even if you are on your own, you will be perfectly safe. The first few kilometres out of Seville...
If you want a very nice section, I would start at Zafra or Villa Franca de los Barros and walk through Merida (which is beautiful) and on to Caceres, which is also quite beautiful.
I am about half way through Via de la Plata and, therefore, cannot comment on the second half. I would start in Seville. First, it is a beautiful City in which to begin. But, also, if you decide to continue at another time, then you can cover the whole Camino over a period of time. I am doing...
