There are fantastic exterior bronze doors and stained glass windows made in Chartres. Photos of the old sanctuary and construction of the present. The legend of an apparition of Our Lady and the founding. Good website.
Janet’s description of a service there is so good. Thanks, Janet!
Hi Crissy,
The word hideous is like a magnet drawing one to investigate more thoroughly. Quasimodo outwardly hideous but inwardly noble. Why is that?
So the comments have led me to find the basilica’s website which details history, art and administration. There are some highly evocative...
I agree and this hack is probably one of the best rants so far.
The string title is like a red cape to a bull. But there seems to be something ironic about people complaining about complainers.
I guess one result of complainers broadcasting over many forums is that people like them that read the unreasonable complaints are probably no going to do a camino. Isn’t that a good thing for the sincere pilgrims who are considerate and appreciate the full experience? Good for all.

“O Facho Mount is located...
Thank you for sharing the links and for your summary. It will be a pleasure to read the articles.
This has been a good discussion for growth. Of course no one pilgrimed to SdC for Jesus or James before these men were born. But visiting holy places was happening centuries before they were...
Thanks for your question, it is a topic that can be very interesting if pursued for curiosity rather than proof.
There is a book, When Santa Was a Shaman by Tony Van Renterghem, that will highlight some of the ways pre-christian pagans provided the origins for some of Christianity’s most...
Thank you for commenting and validating El Cascayal’s efforts to share interesting lines of attention. I have enjoyed reading it and following up on the parts unfamiliar to me. With the internet as both an instant dictionary and encyclopedia, there are fewer excuses for giving up on sampling...
