I'm game for trying it. I have hair that easily gets dry and tangly. Before I have use bar shampoo and carry a travel sized conditioner.
At first I was surprised at the price, but they say one bottle was 4 regular shampoo bottles and the mini was one shampoo bottle.
If you are willing to give...
I finally made the plunge and ordered a hiking umbrella! I live in the middle of nowhere so Amazon prime for us is a week. My hats were getting progressively larger and more flaps so only my eyes were peeking out. I ordered the six moon design compact. I plan on just using shock cord and...
I was listening to a Rick Steve's podcast, and he was interviewing the author of Europe on foot. She mentioned she only hikes in "European walking shoes." I googled the phrase and based on the images I couldn't imagine hiking in them. Does anyone know what brands she may be referring to, or...
Can you imagine if all thirty pilgrims had audible alarms going off at various times?
If you don't move around much, I've been able to learn to sleep with headphones in (also works as earplugs) then you can hear it if you can't wake up to vibrations.
I prefer sports bras that fasten in the back like regular bras, and made of wicking fabric. Like most camino gear, choices are that all answers are correct if you are comfortable and it works for you.
If you don't mind the weight, I think it would be nice and kind. Or maybe take one of the ones that has multiple usb ports as well. I know I have stayed in a few places with not as many outlets as pilgrims. On my second Camino one of my newly met walking partners had one and it really helped...
I used a 24 L pack on my 2nd Camino thinking I would be super quick with such a tiny bag. What I discovered, it was stuffed to the gills and a puzzle to get everything in just so, so it would close. I could fit my camel pack, but anything extra(food mostly) I would have to dangle from the...
Where I live the waters in the desert and surrounding areas are really turbid, and most of the small lightweight filters we have tried seemed to get clogged constantly. Requiring cleaning etc. Have you had any experience recommendations? I am new to Backcountry back packing...
If you have the budget, it might be fun to do some shopping in Paris for clothes. I like to bring a merino dress, for evenings, sleeping or even walking in sometimes. Its lightweight and comfortable, and can be dressed up with a scarf or jewelry.
As to the backpack, keep searching everyone is...
I met a pilgrim who wore and loved his jeans, the via de plata. It was iin may, I've often wondered if more people wear them in fall/winter. I think the biggest hurdle would be drying time, but jeans are made to not be washed everyday.
I always take conditioner travel sized. I have hair that tangels really easy and yet to find a bar that works for me without it becoming an uncombable mess. I think it really depends on individual hair type on whether its worth it or not.
I use the ez case linked below. I really like it, it...
Could you add snaps with one side on the silk liner bag and the other to the down quilt?
I missed those at Costco last year and am really hoping that they have them again this year.
@grayland not sure if this was what you are looking for but it shows limited stock and seems similar. I have been wanting it but haven't pulled the trigger.,

On my first Camino, I just wore regular road running shoes. While comfortable, they definitely needed more traction. Also a thicker sole as some of the pathway can be rocky and uneven and I felt each bump on the sole of my foot. That took some of the joy from my first week. I would recommend a...
I actually like using a camelbak. If not that I use a front waist pack that can hold two water bottles, and has a center pouch for other stuff like snacks. I sip water frequently so I also prefer being able to drink without having to stop, so anything easy access. I suggest trying some of the...
