Oofos is the best answer. Especially if you are old like me. Wool socks if it is cold and you can use them for a break in the day if you feet are tired. They were designed for marathon runner recovery.
Used Oofos sandles as soon as I ended my day and if the weather and road was correct for them I would use them an hour or so on the trail. These were originally designed for recovery after running marathon. They give great support and are very comfortable
I used Verizon 10 dollar a day plan on my 2018 Frances Camino it not only gives you voice but data which was nice. Also used WhatsApp for some texting. Works great

End of October 2018 snowed in in somos (Galacia). Wore my merino bottoms. Glad I had them. I wore them off and on but needed them every day in Galacia in late October. I think it just depends on weather and how well you do in cold. I’m from Florida so you know my take on cold
