    DIY hiking wool?

One old soldier in the Army told me of a trick where you soak your feet in cold tea to toughen them up. He swore by it. I think in Europe you can buy cream with tannin in it. Might be a long slow process but the idea of toughening the skin has merit.

    Merino Wool Care

Don’t forget there are lots of weights of icebreaker fabric. From ultra lightweight at 130 up to around 260 grams The lower weights won’t take the beating heavier weights will take.

Some advice from Icebreaker. Interesting they say to wash garments occasionally with denim jeans ( zipper shut) to reduce pilling. Some good info on their website.

    Shirts and underwear

Until you use Merino garments you won’t really get how practical they are. Warm when you need them cool when you need them. Dry in half or less time. Don’t need to wash them everyday. I’ve done 5 caminos. If you can try it. Look on line for sales. Don’t get them too thin. Good luck.

    Adidas Ultra boost shoes

Two thoughts. On our last Camino we added some of those gel support pads for high arches. Great result. Plus the heal portion really made shoe more comfortable. Walking on ashfelt on a hot day really gets those shoes warmed up. Not sure which sole deals with heat better.

    Should or shouldn't I bring a camera (Sony a6300)?

Absolutely bring it. You will look back in 6 months and realize how many of the little moments that make it magic you start to forget. Carry it in your hand as shots pop up. 1kg is nothing. It’s not all slow scenery shots. Take a waterproof bag from somewhere like REI. Or even a few big Ziplok...

A bit off topic but a bit off topic but have you thought of adding a pair of Scholl pads to whatever boot/ shoe you buy. They get fitted off those stands in Walmart in US. Not cheap as far as inserts go but they claim to reduce heal shock by 40% from memory. I added them my last camino. A huge...
