All you'll need is the handy question "¿Que es la contrasena para la WiFi?" to ask for the password (if it isn't on the wall)
Lugged around a portable cell hotspot for 500 miles and never needed to use it once. 🤷♂️
I walked the Frances with a 30L Gregory Z30 pack...though there was some extra room when I started, there were a number of times along the way when I needed that extra space for grocery items/leftovers. So a little extra space can be a good thing.
I loved my newfangled fabric 'boots' (Keen Koven low top hiking shoes, actually). They were lightweight, had good ventilation and tread and lasted 800km without any issues...and with only a single blister in 33 days.
That being said, use what works best for you (but you might want to give the...
The boots are always dirty. That's why they make you take them off in almost every albergue and store them. The brush is a couple of ounces you can safely dispense with!
That is a good one to keep in mind, as I am used to everything being open on Sunday in California (though I certainly appreciate it being kept as a day of rest!)
Thank you for the suggestion...on previous backpacking trips I've relied on zip lock bags for my documents to good effect. I'll probably do the same this time and hope it doesn't become a 'lesson learned'!

Upon reflection, my previous reply comes across a bit 'snippy' (what can I say, it's late )...but I have really tried to incorporate all of the great advice on the forum into my (very light) packing strategy...just wondering what I might have missed or forgotten from that collective wisdom.

I know this is just my pre-Camino paranoia talking, but for all of the veteran pilgrims:
What did you end up overlooking, either in equipment or logistics, that you wish you hadn't?
I feel like I've read everything on the forum twice, and tried to incorporate the advice, but with a week to go...
You seem to have cut it down near the bare minimum...you could potentially lose the half-sleeve shirt and make due with 2, but that wouldn't cut much weight.
I would be curious what the gear is finally weighing in at after all the cutting and how much was saved.

You'll need a USB wall charger that is compatible with European plugs...you can order one from Amazon or eBay for the same price as an american USB wall plug (e.g. cheap). You just use your regular charging cord with the wall plug. No transformer or anything like that needed as the USB plug...
As a Catholic cleric, I am always happy to see people in my parish regardless of how they are dressed!
I would rather have a devout auto mechanic show up to daily Mass in his greasy cover-alls or a homeless person show up in rags than for them to miss an encounter with God because of something...
Surely you know that I jest (as the little winking man indicates!), but I couldn't resist.
I am, however, a walking staff guy. Having used both (quite effectively) I simply prefer the length of a good walking staff versus a pair of shorter trekking poles -- purely a personal preference, I might...
