Merino Wool ~ YES, it is worth the high price + its "stink free"
There is a reasonably priced version of merino in decathlon - it's called Techwool & some tshirts cost 15 - 50 euros. I haven't tried it myself yet but I read some comments on climbing & trekking sites which were positive. I will be wearing them on my camino in September & will let you know...- Draganban
