Outdoors you shouldn't have a problem, indoors would need something very fast.
But I personally would just leave all the camera, lens, cards, batteries and cables at home and just use the iPhone…
Have a look at 'Microsoft Translator', it splits your smartphone screen in two, the bottom is where your conversation appears live and on top which is upside down to you will display what you spoke in English to Spanish AND VICE VERSA!! Very handy for a live translation...
My Camino Cam was an iPod Touch 5G, did the trick, everything from video, photos to maps and guides, even has wifi so could annoy people on facebook with my photos when in a wifi zone! also had an iPhone 3Gs but the storage and camera on that was rubbish so was just kept as a phone!
